The work involves performing annual maintenance services to the City's Flood Protection System. The project consists of work along approximately three and a half miles of earthen dikes, concrete floodwalls, and pressure conduit. Tasks include, but are not limited to, mowing, brush cutting, herbicide applications, and nuisance wildlife control. The contract term is for one calendar year, with an option to renew the Base Bid contract for two additional calendar years at the unit prices as submitted. The project consists of one Base Bid and eight Alternate Bids. Bidding procedures are in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 section 39M. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Office of Labor and Workforce Development, shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract. The City supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
