As of April 28, 2026 the project has been awarded. The Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation is seeking bids for the rehabilitation of one building located in Washington County. The work includes appliances, carpentry, drywall and finish, and plumbing, and must be completed according to the provided work write-up. The project must be fully completed within 30 working days, with a $100.00 penalty per working day for any extension beyond the construction end date. The successful contractor will be issued a purchase order based on the lowest, most responsive bid in accordance with Housing Authority procurement policy. Bidders must submit a fully completed mandatory bid response sheet to be considered responsive. Bids may be mailed, emailed, or hand delivered as specified, and it is the bidder's responsibility to ensure timely delivery. Indian and Non-Indian bidders are accepted. The Housing Authority reserves the right to determine bid responsiveness, award in the best interest of the Authority, and reject any or all bids. No bid may be withdrawn within 30 days of the due date. Indian preference is given to bidders providing proof of current certification from the Cherokee Nation Tribal Employments Office (TERO), with corresponding requirements and fees applying. The contract is subject to Section 7(b) of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, giving preference to Indian Organizations and Indian-Owned Economic Enterprises.
