The work generally involves the removal of approximately 560 linear feet of 6 inch diameter cast iron sanitary sewer main pipes and replacement with 6 inch vitrified clay pipe, as well as the installation of 225 linear feet of 6 inch diameter cured-in-place-lining. This work will be completed using open trenching and trenchless method to address maintenance issues and improve flow characteristics. Bidders must submit sealed bid proposals via Biddingo prior to the specified deadline. Bidders are responsible for ensuring timely submission and for checking Biddingo regularly for updates or addenda related to this procurement. All questions must be submitted through Biddingo. Contact regarding the procurement with any city official or employee other than the designated procurement contact or purchasing officer may result in disqualification. Bidders must have a valid California contractor's license, classification A, and must disclose license information in their proposal. Both the bidder and all subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations under California Labor Code Sections 1725.5 and 1771.1. The project is subject to prevailing wage requirements; compliance with wage theft prevention and nondiscrimination policies is required. Each bid must be accompanied by an electronic PDF copy of a bidder's bond in the sum of not less than 10% of the total aggregate amount of the bid, issued by an admitted surety insurer in the State of California and naming the City of San Jose as beneficiary. The successful contractor must provide faithful performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract amount. The project is subject to California Air Resources Board off-road diesel-fueled fleets requirements; valid compliance certificates must be submitted for all relevant fleets.
