2026 Fire Station One Front Ramp Questions/Contact: Chris Carver, Fire Chief ccarver@elizabethcitync.gov 252-339-4110 The Contractor shall furnish all labor, high-early-strength materials, and heavy equipment to install a reinforced concrete apron capable of supporting fire apparatus up to 80,000 pounds. Driveway is located at the above location. Size is 35 feet wide by 97 feet long. A 20 X 16 section for turnarounds will be removed and expanded to 40 x 16. Bidders are encouraged to visit the site and complete their own measurements. Demolition: Remove existing concrete slab and excavate to a total depth of 14-15 inches to allow for new sub-base and slab. Sub-Grade: Any "soft spots" or otherwise unsuitable conditions must be undercut and replaced with structural fill at the direction of the Third-Party Testing Agency per the results of the subgrade evaluations and the Testing Agency recommendations. Approval of any additional services or providing additional materials beyond the base bid scope of work discussed herein must be received from the owner prior to proceeding. Base: Install and compact 6 inch ABC base Repair existing catch basin: New piping to storm drain west of the driveway. Existing basin is blocked. New 4 inch pvc piping or comparable material to be installed and properly graded to tie into storm drain to the west side of the current driveway. Landscaping: Landscaping in the immediate area shall be repaired and graded as needed upon completion. Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 44A-26(2), the Contractor shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (125%) of the total contract price. This bond serves as the sole protection for all persons or entities furnishing labor and materials for which the Contractor or its subcontractors are liable, in lieu of traditional mechanic's lien rights on public property.
