The work involves addressing a sinkhole observed on Showellton Avenue at the Price Landfill Superfund site, where a soil boring associated with site investigations was performed and closed approximately 15 to 20 years ago. The sinkhole is located within the roadway near the curb line and is in the vicinity of two monitoring wells installed at the same time as the former borehole. The site is part of an active groundwater remediation system operated since 2013, which includes a groundwater extraction and treatment plant, 13 shallow extraction wells, 4 deep extraction wells, and more than 100 monitoring wells located on-site and off-site. Activities are associated with the continued control and remediation of impacted groundwater and addressing subsurface conditions related to legacy investigation infrastructure at the site. Location: Showellton Avenue near 257 Showellton Avenue, Absecon, NJ 08201. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment, materials, and supplies to complete the tasks identified in the following paragraphs. All work shall be conducted in a safe, secure, cost efficient, and acceptable manner. Work is to be performed commensurate with the level of effort and quality intended, with appropriately qualified quality control (QC) representation. The period of performance (POP) for this Sample is 2 years from the date of award. General Instructions: Restoration of pavement at the sinkhole in the roadway at 257 Showellton Avenue in Absecon, New Jersey. The proposed pavement restoration area extends the width of the roadway and approximately 10 feet beyond the soil borings located longitudinally up and down the roadway, as indicated on the Pavement Restoration Plan drawing.
