The Union Township Trustees office is accepting mowing bids for the 2026 mowing season. Bids are being accepted for the following locations: Rothrock II Cemetery (1187 N Airport Rd, Monticello, IN, .199 acres, must be mowed by pushmower only) and Shafer Cemetery (2408 N 750 E, Monticello, IN, 1 acre, does not include the pet cemetery). All bids should be for each cemetery individually, including an hourly rate for special projects as directed. Equipment and insurance must be provided by the bidder. Cemeteries are to be mowed once a week unless called off due to dry weather. No chemicals may be used on or near tombstones. Weedwhacking may be used around perimeter fencing only. Extreme care is to be used when mowing around tombstones, which are not to be touched or damaged. Trimming by hand is required when grass gets 6-7 inches tall around tombstones. Trimming bushes and low hanging branches as needed.
