Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Pembroke, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a 75,000-square-foot, three-story above grade medical facility.
The project involves the construction of a new Health Sciences Center at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The facility will be a three-story, 75,000-square-foot building with a steel framing system, concrete/metal deck floor slabs for elevated floors, and a slab-on-grade first floor. Interior spaces include classrooms, laboratories, and study areas on the first two levels. The first floor will also feature Optometry and Occupational Therapy Clinics. The partial third floor is designated for administration office spaces. A food service area and multifunction dining hall/large lecture room will be located on the first floor. The building's exterior will include masonry brick veneer, GFRC, precast components, curtainwall/storefront glazing, and metal panels. Bid packages include general trades, final cleaning, turnkey masonry, ornamental metals, damp-proofing/waterproofing/joint protection, wall panels, turnkey roofing, applied fireproofing, doors, frames, hardware, and specialty doors. Pre-qualification requirements: Bidding is restricted to prequalified first-tier contractors. The bidder must include the Identification of Minority Business Participation form and either Affidavit A or B with their proposal. Failure to complete these forms is grounds for rejection of the bid.
