Shawnee County Board of County Commissioners requests qualifications from consulting engineering firms for professional design and construction engineering inspection services for Bridge Project S-121068.00. The project includes: NE Shaffer Road Bridge over Little Muddy Creek – OSN 311 (removal and replacement) and NE 46th Street Bridge over the abandoned ATSF RR – BSN 437 (removal only). Scope of Work: For OSN 311 (NE Shaffer Road over Little Muddy Creek): - Prepare engineering plans, bidding documents, and cost estimates. - Prepare right-of-way plans and legal documents for appraising and acquiring necessary permanent and temporary construction easements; secure certificates of title for properties requiring easements; provide field survey staking for easements to be appraised and acquired. - Prepare a geotechnical engineering report for substructure elements related to the replacement bridge. - Prepare and submit all required permit applications to the Corps of Engineers, Kansas Department of Agriculture Division of Water Resources, and any other relevant Federal or State Agency. - Prepare utility plans and assist with utility coordination as per Shawnee County Design Criteria. - Provide construction engineering inspection services. For BSN 437 (NE 46th Street over Abandon ATSF RR): - Prepare engineering plans, bidding documents, and cost estimates for removing the NE 46th Street bridge over the abandoned ATSF RR and for regrading and replacing NE 46th Street pavement. - Provide construction engineering inspection services. Plans must comply with Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Design Standards for Bridges and construction inspection services are to follow KDOT Standard Specifications and City of Topeka/Shawnee County Standard Technical Specifications, latest editions and addenda.
