State of Hawaii, DLNR, Division of Forestry & Wildlife-Maui District is requesting quotes for FY'26 South Maui Deer Fence Installation in DOFAW-Maui District. Offer price shall include all related taxes. Vendor must be HCE compliant to qualify for selection. Please see attachments for specifications. Purchase is based on availability of funds or other internal factors. Payment to be made with State of Hawaii Purchase Order (PO). This contract aims to enable the State to use various funding sources to construct multiple fence lines across different areas of South Maui, supporting efforts to reduce the axis deer population and allowing for more effective and attainable control efforts for landowners and land managers on both sides of the fence. 'South Maui' in this solicitation will be defined as lands located between the Ohukai Subdivision (West), Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve (East), and Kula Highway (Mauka). See Figure 1. By limiting access to city limits, these fences will help control deer numbers and improve conditions for ongoing population management. Regional cross-landscape fencelines will confine the animals and simplify control measures. Because the fences traverse diverse terrain, each area will require unique fence specifications. Most project areas are privately owned and managed, while some parcels belong to the County of Maui and the State of Hawaii. Approximately 70,000 LF of deer fence may be constructed under this solicitation.
