The work consists of reconstruction and overlay of up to 2.5 million square feet at various locations throughout the City of Palm Springs. Work includes recording, preservation, and resetting of survey monuments; pulverization and milling of asphalt concrete pavement; 2-inch grind and overlays; full AC grind and overlay; unclassified excavation (export); subgrade preparation; asphalt concrete paving; adjusting utility manholes, vaults, and water valves; removal and replacement or installation of concrete curb ramps and select gutters; construction of concrete cross gutters; traffic striping and markings; and all other appurtenant work. The work must be completed within 60 working days. Bidders are required to: - Register as a bidder to download contract documents. - Submit all questions in writing through the PlanetBids portal before the specified deadline. - Possess a valid Class A or C12 Contractor’s License for California at the time of bidding. - Submit proof of a certified or cashier’s check or Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the bid price electronically, with the original provided if the bidder is selected. - Guarantee the bid price for 120 calendar days from the bid opening date. - Pay prevailing wage rates and submit electronic certified payroll records to the California DIR. - Comply with the City’s Public Integrity Disclosure requirements. - Make good faith efforts to subcontract with local business enterprises and businesses whose workforce resides within the Coachella Valley. - Comply with the City’s Community Workforce Agreement, including securing Letters of Assent for all subcontractors. - Accept that the City may reject any or all bids or make award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. - Be aware of retainage provisions and options for securities in lieu of retention.
