Sealed bids are invited for the Peninsula Union School Re-Roof Project. Bids must be submitted on the Bid Proposal Form and must conform to the invitation, plans, specifications, and all other contract documents. Copies of contract documents can be obtained digitally via the office of the architect. The successful bidder must comply with the Labor Code regarding payment of prevailing wages, apprenticeships, or other training programs. All workers must be paid at least the general prevailing wage rates set by the Department of Industrial Relations, which are available online. The work schedule is based on an eight-hour day, with overtime and holiday rates at a minimum of time and one half. Substitution of securities in lieu of retention from progress payments is permitted. Bids must include the name and business location of each subcontractor performing work over one-half of one percent of the bid price, and the type of work they will perform. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days after the opening. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to bid. The project is subject to Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise requirements and prevailing wage requirements, with compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations for applicable public works or maintenance projects. Each bidder must possess, at the time of award, a California State Contractor's license classified as A, B, or C39 Roofing Contractor. A mandatory bidders' conference will be held at the project site to acquaint prospective bidders with the contract documents and site; attendance is required for bid consideration.
