Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The work involves PCC paving, PCC driveway, HMA parking lot, PCC sidewalk, and replacement of a sanitary sewer manhole located between Market Street and Jefferson Street from Gilbert Street to Van Buren Street. All work must comply strictly with the Project Manual prepared by the City of Iowa City. Proposals must be completed on forms provided by the City and submitted in a sealed envelope. Additionally, a separate sealed envelope must include a completed Bidder Status Form and a bid security equivalent to 10% of the bid, made payable to the Treasurer of the City of Iowa City. The bid security is forfeited if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten days and provide a satisfactory bond for the faithful performance and maintenance of the project. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bond for 100% of the contract price, issued by an approved surety. This bond guarantees prompt payment for materials and labor, protects the City from claims and damages, and guarantees maintenance for twenty years after completion and acceptance by the City Council. Specified Start Date: June 1, 2026. Substantial Completion Date: July 17, 2026. Final Completion Date: September 25, 2026. All listed bid items must be completed by the Substantial Completion Date except sodding and punch list items. Liquidated damages are set at $500 per calendar day for delays. Bidders must list intended subcontractors with work type and approximate amounts on the Proposal. The awarded Contractor must also list subcontractors, quantities, unit prices, and extended amounts on the Contract. Preference is given to products, provisions, and labor from Iowa and Iowa's reciprocal resident bidder preference law applies. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive technicalities and irregularities.
