The project involves the comprehensive redevelopment of the existing outdoor space at Maple Elementary School into a functional, naturalized learning environment for kindergarten. The contractor is responsible for initial site preparation, demolition and removal of existing features, and the preservation and storage of existing play equipment. The work primarily consists of civil and landscape tasks, including installing new paved walkways, concrete curbing, planting areas, and natural play elements such as wood playhouses, log balance beams, and steppers, all of which must meet current CSA safety standards for childcare environments. Additionally, a new sand play area and a designated outdoor learning zone equipped for classroom use will be constructed. Respondents shall attend the site meeting at their own risk and hold the Board harmless for any issues or damages arising out of their attendance of the site meeting. The Board will not consider any claims for additional payments during the execution of the Work for extra work or difficulties encountered resulting from conditions which were either visible or could be reasonably inferred from an examination of the Place of the Work and the available project information prior to the submission of Proposals.
