Description

Renovation of a laboratory facility in Kingston, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

Queen's University is seeking to acquire a medium current air insulated 300-400kV accelerator capable of accelerating a range of heavy ions. This will be coupled with a light ion injector system, to provide a coaxial beam which will be introduced into a transmission electron microscope (TEM). The subject includes the accelerator, the light ion injector, and beam transport to the TEM, including an appropriate combining lens. The system will include required vacuum systems, software controls, and beam monitoring. Acquisition of the TEM is not included.
