The Board of Education for Scarsdale Union Free School District (SUFSD) invites qualified organizations to submit bids for Stream Dredging services. The services requested include the removal of approximately 1,400 cubic yards of unconsolidated sediment to be dredged for routine maintenance and floodway management within Brewster Stream, waterbody index number: ER-3-24, tributary of Bronx River, Class C. Please refer to the SCOPE & SPECIFICATIONS section of this document for more information on the project scope and contract specifications. General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Contractors License Required - Insurance Required - License Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % SCOPE OF WORK The SUFSD is presenting this Request for Bids (RFB) for dredging a total of approximately 1,400 cubic yards of freshwater sediments from the channel to the refusal layer, totaling approximately 21,300 square feet (0.5 acres) as depicted on the project plans (Appendix A). The selected contractor would be responsible for site preparation, dredging operations, site breakdown, material testing and disposal, and site restoration. The dredging window for the project is from June 27, 2026 to August 26, 2026. Therefore, dredging and disposal operations will need to be completed by August 26, 2026. Mechanical, hydraulic, or a combination of the two methods are acceptable, provided the chosen method is compatible with site specific conditions. The disposal of sediments shall be conducted at an offsite area proposed by the contractor. The Contractor shall submit an approximate schedule of availability with their bid, and update with a detailed schedule two weeks prior to the start of work and weekly thereafter. The Contractor shall coordinate their activities with the SUFSD to avoid delays to either party. The project plans, specifications, and permit requirements shall govern the implementation of this project. In the event of a discrepancy between these documents, the Contractor shall not deviate from the project plans, specifications, and permits without express written consent of the SUFSD. The Contractor shall be responsible for confirming the final elevation of the post dredge area with SUFSD staff to confirm conformance with project plans, bid specifications and permit approvals before commencing demobilization, site restoration activities and general closeout.
