Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Hobart, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The scope of work includes two projects on County Line Road north of 10th Street. Project #1 involves the replacement of an existing 15" corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert with a 15" reinforced concrete (RC) pipe, installation of a storm manhole, end sections with rip rap, aggregate shoulder, a multi-layered erosion control mat, site grading, HMA patching, and bank stabilization. It also includes removals such as site clearing, grubbing, existing culvert removal, common excavation, pavement removal, and restoration of banks and disturbed areas to their original or better condition. Project #2 consists of site improvements around an existing 96" CMP culvert by grading the bank and installing a multi-layered erosion control system, with removals limited to site clearing, grubbing, and grading. The existing culvert remains intact. Installation includes site grading, aggregate shoulder, and erosion control mat along the embankments, along with restoration of banks and disturbed sites to existing or better conditions. Instructions to bidders include submitting two copies of the bid package, accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or acceptable bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid. This serves as a guarantee for contract entry and performance security if the bid is accepted. Bids may be withdrawn prior to opening but not for sixty days after opening unless agreed to by the owner. The owner determines the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder based on the bid and other relevant contract matters. The owner reserves the right to waive informalities, accept the lowest responsive and responsible bid, or reject any and all bids.
