Sealed proposals, in duplicate, from Qualified General Contractors will be received for Restroom Renovation for Pelham Oaks Elementary School. Bids must be delivered to the specified location by the time indicated; mailed bids not presented at the opening are considered non-responsive. A cashier's check or bid bond, payable to Pelham City Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the proposal, but not more than $10,000, must accompany each proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required at contract signing. Contractors must provide evidence of proper licensing for the classification of work for this project prior to receiving plans and specifications. Digital copies of drawings and specifications may be obtained by General Contractor Bidders upon application and placement on the Official Bidders List. Hard copies are available for purchase from the document printer. Addenda and proposal information will only be issued to holders of documents distributed by the Architect and on the Official Bidders List. Bids from contractors not on the Official Bidders List may not be accepted or opened. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof, as provided in the contract documents or by addendum. All bidders exceeding the amount established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975. The General Contractor's License Number must be displayed on the outside of the sealed envelope; otherwise, the bid will not be considered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors in the interest of the Owner.
