Removal and remediation of waste located within the Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge to prevent the entry and spread of potential invasive APHIS-regulated plant pests and pathogens into the surrounding environment and agriculture. Work includes the removal, handling, and disposal of waste that is regulated by APHIS or commingled with APHIS-regulated material, which requires deep burial at an approved landfill. The contractor shall comply with all applicable APHIS requirements and environmental regulations during cleanup activities. Access to the dump site is through private property, and the contractor performing the cleanup shall assume the lease of this property for the duration of the remediation effort. APHIS currently holds a temporary lease of the property that will be transitioned as part of the project.
