Borough of Catasauqua will receive sealed bids for the Wood Street Reclamation Project. The work will include variable depth milling, full depth paving, and curb repair/replacement. Bids will be received online via PennBid. The bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the Owner in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the total Bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting requirements. The successful bidder must furnish Performance, Payment Bonds and Insurance per Contract requirements. The work is federally funded in part through a grant from the County of Lehigh Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). All Contractor(s) must seek Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Firm participation in obtaining subcontractors for construction work, equipment, services and/or supplies in accordance with federal executive orders. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with applicable statutes and regulations of the Grantor. The contract is subject to current Federal minimum wage rates in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Davis Bacon Act. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in, and/or to reject, any or all bids/proposals if, in their judgement, is not in the best interests of the Township. SCOPE OF WORK - The intent of these specifications is to describe the work necessary to resurface Wood Street utilizing milling, a base course and wearing course.. A more detailed listing of the construction requirements is described in the following technical specifications. The Contractor shall provide all traffic control, signage, flagmen, etc. necessary to comply with PennDOT Pub. 213, latest edition, for each location. Construction improvements can be completed under a daily road closure which shall also include sidewalk closures. The Contractor shall furnish, maintain and remove any and all traffic control signs, public notification, and door hangers. The Contractor shall supply all materials, labor and equipment necessary to properly perform the respective items of work. Any apparatus, material and labor not specifically mentioned or shown on the drawings which may be found necessary to complete or perfect any portion of the work in a substantial manner and in compliance with the requirements implied or intended in these specifications shall be furnished by the Contractor without additional compensation. This shall include all materials, devices and methods peculiar to the apparatus or system furnished and installed by the Contractor. The work covered by the plans and specifications is located in Catasauqua Borough, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The following project sites are shown on the Site Location Map attached at the end of this specification and can generally be described as follows: Wood Street - Full depth mill, replace with four (4") inches of base course and one and a half (1.5") inches of wearing course. Curb replacement as identified. 5% for minority business enterprises (MBE) and 3% for women business enterprises (WBE)
