A. This work is the furnishing and installation of a pedestal mounted solar powered warning device, flasher cabinet, and associated components, as indicated. B. The measurement and payment (EACH) includes (2) one 12 section incandescent look vehicular signal heads with reflective backplates and 2 retro-reflective fluorescent yellow border, solar components, flasher cabinet, signal head mounting equipment, complete wiring, and other associated components and materials necessary for a complete and operational solar power flashing warning device. Sealed proposals will be received electronically via the PennBid Program by the City of Altoona, Department of Public Works, for the project: Improvements and Upgrades of Logan Blvd & Beale Ave Traffic Control Signals. Work performed on this project shall be as per current Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Publication 408, as amended and revised. Either an original Certified Check, Official Check, Cashier's Check, or Bid Bond drawn to the order of the "City of Altoona" equal to ten percent of the amount of the bid must be submitted with the proposal. The Bid Bond must be in effect for a period of sixty days from the bid opening date. The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality not material to the bid, and to award the contract as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Altoona. No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty days after the opening thereof. Work performed on this project will be subject to prevailing wage rates as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
