Renovation of a municipal facility in Durango, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Reference Number 0000421119 La Plata County is seeking bids from qualified contractors to replace two (2) horizontally mounted commercial boilers at the La Plata County Human Services Building with three (3) new upright/vertical boilers. Demolition/Sizing/Removal The existing two (2) boilers are Lochinvar copper-fin II. The units are stacked with the use of 2- inch square tube frames. Measurements are 34" wide x 35 1/2 " high x 7' 9" long. Due to the size of the boiler room, the boilers will need to be disassembled and sized for removal from their locations. The only access to the room is a 35" x 83 1/2 " door. See photos (published separately with RFP) Demolition includes removal of existing boilers, pumps, piping, controls and all accessories. Disconnect gas piping back to the 4-inch main entering the room. Remove circulation pumps, controls, hydronic piping, valves, sensors, gauges, air separator, expansion tank and bypass feeder up to penetrations through walls and ceiling. Remove existing boiler flues and air ducts, patch roof and walls as required. Replace existing boiler control panel. See drawings; published separately with the RFP. Installation to include three (3) new Lochinvar FTX1000 commercial boilers per 2024 IEC code. Install new inline and base mounted pumps, new expansion tank, new boiler control panel connected to existing BAS, as well as new 6" exhaust and combustion air ducts, all plumbing, gas and exhaust connections per current code, and patch roofs and walls as required. Note: Use of a specific brand name and model has been approved for this solicitation due to the Engineer's prior design work, which is responsive to physical space limitations for the work. The Project has been designed by ME&E Engineering (Engineer). ME&E will act as Owner's representative for project oversight. They will assume all duties and responsibilities, and have the rights and authority assigned to the Engineer, including but not limited to review and approval of all materials/equipment/machinery to be used on the project.
