This project involves cured in place pipe (CIPP) slip lining of existing sanitary sewer collection mains in various neighborhoods within the City of Ankeny. The construction improvements include minor traffic control, establishing a Public Information and Notification Program, cleaning, video inspection, service and obstruction locating, establishing and executing a sewage bypassing plan, removing obstructions including protruding taps by trenchless method, verifying all sanitary sewer service reconnections, cleanup, and miscellaneous associated work necessary to complete the project. Bidders must accompany their bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate Surety Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, guarantee performance, payment for materials and labor, and maintenance for two years after acceptance. Insurance requirements must meet Part 3 of Section 1070 of the SUDAS Standard Specifications, and the City of Ankeny must be listed as additional insured. A preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within Iowa. Resident bidders will be preferred over nonresident bidders if the bidder's state or country provides a similar preference. Bids must be unconditional except as specified in the contract documents. The City of Ankeny reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. Payments will be made based on estimates by the Contractor approved by the Engineer, with 97% paid out during the pay period and 3% retained per Iowa Code. The project must be fully completed, including all punch list items, by January 31, 2027, or liquidated damages will apply for late completion.
