The work involves furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and services for the construction of the Ameriplex Drive Roadway Reconstruction (Phase 2) project located in Michigan City, Indiana, as defined in the contract documents. Bidders must deliver fully completed and sealed bids to the Clerk of the Michigan City Board of Public Works & Safety at 100 East Michigan Boulevard, Michigan City, Indiana before the specified deadline. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the designated time, and the contract awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held where the project site may be visited, contract rules and regulations will be explained, and questions regarding the project may be addressed. Contract documents can be downloaded at no cost or obtained as hard copies for a fee. These documents are also available for public review at specified offices. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or an acceptable bid bond, amounting to at least 5% of the total bid as a guarantee of contract acceptance and performance security. Bid security for all but the three lowest responsive bidders will be returned within thirty days after bids are opened. Bids may be withdrawn before the opening time but not for sixty days afterward unless agreed by the owner. The owner reserves the right to waive informalities, accept the most responsive and responsible bid, or reject any or all bids. Awards are subject to a finalized contract between the board and the winning bidder.
