The project is for the paving and striping of an existing gravel parking lot at the McLoud Sports Complex near McLoud High School. The total area is approximately 185,000 square feet. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of the project including final design, site preparation, material procurement, application, and finishing (including striping). This includes finalizing grade management plans for proper water runoff and drainage, pre-dressing the existing gravel base, minor leveling and compaction, grade adjustment for drainage, application and compaction of 4-inch (compacted to no less than 3 inches) Hot Mix Asphalt, and layout and painting of parking stalls (including ADA-compliant), directional arrows, fire lane markings, and crosswalks. Removal of existing vegetation and certain obstructions, with offsite disposal, is also included. Alternate/add-on work includes providing a separate line-item cost for the installation of concrete curbing along the perimeter. The contractor must have a minimum of five years’ installation experience and provide references for similar jobs. Work must comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and all construction will be surveyed with grading and subgrade installed to 3D guidance controls or equivalent accuracy. Bidders must include details on asphalt mix, paint durability, and proof of insurance. They must verify site conditions before bidding and note any structural deficiencies in the proposal. If submitting substitutions, approval must be obtained at least seven days prior to the bid date.
