Site work for a water / sewer project in Wanatah, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The project consists of improvements to the Wanatah Wastewater Treatment Plant, including the construction of a new wastewater treatment system with features such as an influent screen, washer compactor, mixing/equalization tank, aeration tank, clarifier, aerobic digester, and sludge bagging system. The Owner will directly purchase specific equipment items such as the static screen, surge pumps and controls, blowers and associated controls, aeration diffusers, circular clarifier, waste sludge pump and control, flow meter, slide gate, and telescopic valve. The Contractor is responsible for installing this equipment and any ancillary items not included with the equipment. Electrical installation will be managed separately by the Owner through their designated electrician, who will provide all conduit, wiring, and electrical equipment not included in the purchased packages, as well as temporary electric needs during construction. The Contractor is responsible for all general construction, mechanical installation, labor, materials, permits, licenses, insurance, and other items required for the construction of the facilities. Bidders must obtain the contract documents, plans, and specifications from VS Engineering through QuestCDN and pay the download fee to be considered a Plan Holder of Record; bids from non-plan holders will be rejected. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope and on the printed Proposal Form from the project manual. Proposals must include a bid guaranty in the form of a certified check or bond for five percent (5%) of the bid amount. Bidders must submit all information requested by Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013), including a financial statement. Successful bidders will be required to furnish performance, maintenance, and payment bonds equal to the bid price and all necessary insurance certificates. All bonds and insurance remain in effect for twelve months following project completion and acceptance. Bidders are responsible for site inspection and familiarity with contract documents. Conditional or qualified bids will not be accepted. The award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, but the Town of Wanatah reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, accept any proposal, or make a desirable combination of proposals, and to waive any informalities in the bidding process. Plans and Specifications will be available on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 , and may be examined prior to purchase and download online, at the Wanatah Town Hall, and at VS Engineering, Inc., 4275 North High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46254.
