The proposed improvements consist of Bituminous Materials, Prime Coat; Bituminous Concrete Surface Course, Mixture 'C', N50; Bituminous Surface Removal (Cold Milling) and Patching. All work will be constructed in accordance with the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction in Illinois," latest edition, except as modified in the Plans and Specifications. BITUMINOUS CONCRETE SURFACE COURSE: The bituminous concrete surface course shall be Mixture "C", N50, placed in accordance with Article 406 of the Standard Specifications. The Bituminous Concrete Surface Course, Mixture "C", N50 will be paid for at the contract unit price per ton furnished, placed and compacted. BITUMINOUS SURFACE REMOVAL (COLD MILLING): Removal of existing bituminous surface shall be in accordance with Article 440.03 at the locations and at the width and depth as shown on the plans. The resulting millings shall remain the property of the City of Red Bud and shall be hauled to the City Stockpile or an alternate location within the City Limits as directed. The Bituminous Surface Removal (Cold Milling) will be paid for at the contract unit price per square yard,1.5", which price shall include the hauling of the resulting millings to the City Stockpile or an alternate location within the City Limits. PATCHING: Shall include the removal of 9" of existing pavement and base as directed by the City, haul the material to a nearby spoils site, furnish and place 6" of CA 6 aggregate base course, prime (MC800) the aggregate base course, furnish and place 3" of bituminous concrete surface course, mixture "C", N50. ADJUSTING MANHOLES AND VALVE BOXES: The existing manholes and utility valve boxes shall be raised to finished grade by the Contractor. Adjusting Manholes and Valve Boxes will be considered incidental to construction and no additional compensation will be allowed.
