The Township of Ironton is soliciting bids for local road improvements to be conducted between May and October 2026. The scope includes supplying and delivering various road maintenance materials and carrying out specific construction projects. Materials needed are: 1) ¾" limestone road gravel, 2) 2"-4" limestone breaker run, 3) various sizes of limestone shot rock, 4) limestone screenings, and 5) reground asphalt suitable for roadway use. These materials are to be delivered to the town shed or spread/piled at job sites and must be bid by the cubic yard. Additional hourly work is sought for ditch work (cleaning, cutting down banks, placing riprap, culvert replacement, etc.), which may include moving costs, and for crack filling of roadways using a poly fiber material. Construction projects for bid: - Hinze Road: Deliver and spread a 6 inch base lift using ¾" limestone gravel. (Town responsible for signage and grading.) - Cemetery Road: Chip sealcoat using dark granite chips from about 1½ miles from Ironton village east to the Town of Reedsburg line. - Bible Lane and Lincoln Road: Prep and apply double chip sealcoat using dark granite chips (Town to do final grading). - Jesop Road: Prep and apply a 20-foot wide by 2 inch thick asphalt mat using a 4MT mix, from CO HWY G north to the Town of LaValle line. Bids must be sealed and accompanied by appropriate bonding or a business check as specified, along with proof of insurance. The township reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
