Description

Site work and environmental remediation for a mixed-use development in Madison, North Carolina. Completed plans call civil work for a playground / park / athletic field and water / sewer project.

This project involves a river restoration effort in a Town park. The project requires special qualifications that include expertise in earthwork, erosion control, and river restoration. The winning contractor will be required to follow strict environmental performance specifications and meet permit requirements. Written questions shall be accepted by email until May 12, 2026, at 5pm. Answers will be distributed to all potential bidders. Submit questions to ctormey@kbeng.org. This scope of work involves earthwork, grading, clearing and grubbing, and construction of instream features along 1,800 linear feet of Big Beaver Island Creek. General stream restoration features include constructed riffles and pools, and bank grading. Bank stabilization features include brush toe, stone toe, boulder toe, and vegetated geolifts. In-stream features to be constructed include a boulder cross vane and several log vanes. The work also requires soil preparation and planting of streambank live stakes, plugs, and container trees. The contractor will be required to supply all materials and warranty the work for a period of one year. The project site is available for a site visit during daylight hours. The Project Site is owned by the Town of Madison. The project can be accessed through Idol Park, located at 529 Summit St., Madison, NC 27025.
