The project includes construction of a new campus chiller plant to provide a fully functional chilled water service to the Marion VA Medical Center that is independent of existing equipment. Work includes furnishing and installing all associated mechanical, electrical, and control equipment required for a complete and operational chilled water system, demolition of the existing chiller plant after successful commissioning of the new system, and associated site improvements. The scope also includes tie-ins to existing site utilities, including chilled water supply and return piping, domestic water, electrical, and telecommunications systems. The existing chiller plant must remain fully operational throughout construction, requiring carefully coordinated phasing to ensure uninterrupted facility operations and patient care services. This is a multi-phased effort requiring close coordination with the Contracting Officer's Representative and VA staff. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and expertise necessary to perform the work in accordance with the Statement of Work, approved construction drawings and specifications, manufacturer requirements, and all applicable local, state, federal, and VA standards. The period of performance is 720 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with work generally performed during normal working hours unless otherwise directed.
