The work consists generally of removing the existing 6" vitrified clay pipe and replacing it with new 8" PVC pipe along Laurent St, reconnecting sewer laterals to the new sewer main pipe, replacing sewer laterals, replacing sanitary sewer manholes, and removing and replacing an area of concrete roadway, along with other related construction activities. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services required for the complete and proper execution of all the work as shown on the drawings or outlined in the specifications. Work shall include items not specifically mentioned but necessary to make a complete working installation of all systems shown or described. Bidders are required to submit a construction schedule within 10 days of Notice to Proceed and notify the Engineer at least 5 working days prior to commencing work. No Parking Signs, if utilized, must be placed at least 72 hours in advance. All work is confined to working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekend work is permitted. The contractor shall secure staging areas at their expense and submit a traffic control plan for approval. The contractor is responsible for water pollution control in accordance with the City's Best Management Practices Manual, and any associated costs shall be included in contract unit prices. Mobilization and demobilization, and all costs therefore, shall be included in the contract unit price paid per lump sum for "Mobilization & Demobilization." The contractor must provide for safe movement of traffic, maintain access to properties, and ensure compliance with notification requirements. All bidders must comply with licensing requirements and submit all required documentation as listed in the bidding documents. No bid will be considered for less than all items, and only one contract will be awarded for the entire project. The bid must include all taxes and be based on completion within the specified working days.
