The work involves the construction of the Citywide Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Gap Closure at various locations including Acacia St., Frontera St., La Palma Ave., and Santa Ana Canyon Rd. The contract includes all requisite materials, labor, machinery, tools, and apparatus for the completion of the project in the manner described and shown in the plans and specifications. Bidders must: - Carefully examine the site, contract documents, and proposal requirements. - Submit bids based on estimated quantities multiplied by submitted unit prices; unit prices will prevail in case of discrepancies. - Perform their own take-offs of work quantities and types required from the drawings and specifications; report missing or erroneous items/quantities through the RFI process. - Enter into a contract within twenty-one calendar days after receiving the contract for execution, and commence work upon receipt of Notice to Proceed, to be completed within 98 working days, excluding weekends and specified holidays. Question Submission Deadline:May 12, 2026, 5:00pm Instructions to bidders include: - Submission of completed forms as required in the contract documents. - Both electronic submittal (via OpenGov) and hard copy submission of certain documents, such as bid bonds, are required. - Non-collusion, debarment, equal employment opportunity, and conflict of interest declarations and certifications must be completed and included. - Bidders must be properly licensed and registered. - Subcontractor listing requirements must be met, including registration with the Department of Industrial Relations. - Only pre-qualified contractors shall perform specific high voltage electrical utility work. - All information in the bid must be complete and accurate; non-responsive bids will be rejected. - All forms and supporting documents must be filled out, scanned, and uploaded as instructed in the project documents. - Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local provisions. - Adherence to the specified proposal, bid security, and submittal guidelines is required for a responsive bid.
