Question Deadline 05/12/2026 To obtain approval to use an unspecified product, a Bidder must deliver written requests to the Engineer at least seven (7) working days before the sealed Bid is due. Scope of Work at Fire Station 5 will consist of: Removal and replacement of concrete driveway and sidewalk, site grading on the north side of the Fire Station to improve drainage away from the building and direct it to the west portion of the property, repair of existing window well curb, and installation of a new galvanized bar grating. On the interior of the Fire Station in the Engine Bay, provide a new channel drain and grate with sloped bottom. In the basement, the project will include additional support to the existing wood beam and modifications to support the new channel drain. Scope of Work at Fire Station 6 will consist of: Removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk, asphalt paving, and concrete curb and gutter. Work on the Project must start within ten calendar days after the Notice to Proceed and be completed by August 28, 2026. Each Bidder must provide a Bid security as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a contract and furnish, after the award of the contract, a corporate surety Bond for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract. Bid security must be in the amount of ten percent of the contract and may be in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, certified share draft, or a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the governmental entity. The Bid Bond must contain no conditions except as provided in this section. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained at the Engineering Department, City Hall - Second Floor, 50 West 13th Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52001, or on the City's website at www.cityofdubuque.org/bids.aspx. No plan deposit is required. Bidders should not include State of Iowa sales tax in their Bid. A sales tax exemption certificate will be available for materials purchased in Iowa for incorporation into the Project. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor, to the extent lawfully required under Iowa statutes.
