To be considered, these requests must be emailed to constructionbids@dnr.iowa.gov This project includes improvements for two wastewater treatment systems in Backbone State Park. The work primarily consists of removing and replacing the existing septic tank and sand filter treatment system, installing UV disinfection, and removing and replacing a lift station and valve vault. Additionally, the lagoon treatment system will be improved with piping modifications, sampling manholes, and tablet chemical treatment equipment. Bidders must comply with all public improvement procurement laws, including Iowa Code chapters 26, 73, and 573, related rules, and any applicable federal statutes or executive orders. Each bidder must submit a bid security as defined in Iowa Code section 26.8. Copies are accepted electronically, but the original must be mailed if the bidder is the apparent lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The bid security must be in the amount specified in the bidding documents and made payable to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Failure to execute a contract and file an acceptable Performance Bond (equal to 100% of the contract price) and a certificate of liability insurance within thirty days of the award may result in rescinding the award and forfeiture of the bid security. Bidders are encouraged to be familiar with public improvement procurement requirements and the bidding documents before submitting a bid.
