Renovation of a transportation facility in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

The work consists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the repair of spalled concrete on the dock piling as well as dock front face and underside deck concrete repair. All work included in the base scope is on the under-side of an operating ship-loading dock at a port terminal. The dock will remain operational during the work. The contractor is responsible for coordinating with Terminal Operations regarding vessel movements and the work schedule and must develop and follow a safe work plan. The contractor must provide for the free and unobstructed movement of vessels and ensure the safety of workers, vessels, equipment, and personnel. Work procedures for pile repair include sawcutting, chipping, wire brushing, applying corrosion converter to reinforcing steel, applying repair mortar, and using specified products for repairs, all according to manufacturer's specifications and instructions. All bidding contractors must hold a current Alabama General Contractor license with Heavy/Railroad classification. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond of at least 5% of the bid amount, not to exceed $10,000. A performance bond equal to the contract sum and a payment bond for labor and materials are required. Only qualified bidders may submit proposals, and non-resident contractors must be qualified to do business in Alabama. Proposals must be filled out on provided forms with all blanks completed in ink, including necessary certificates and licenses, and submitted in a sealed envelope with the required information on the outside. Only those who attend the mandatory pre-bid meeting are eligible to bid. Conditional bids are not accepted, and bids may be rejected at the owner's discretion. QA date - 6-1-2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Project Manager in writing. Replies will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded as having received the bidding documents. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents. Only questions answered by formal written Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. The deadline to submit questions is ten (10) calendar days before the Bid Opening date.
