Reference Number 0000421001 The North Kingstown School Department (NKSD) is seeking qualified bids for Gym Flooring Refinishing. The following request is for a one (1)-year service contract with two (2) one-year options. See Resurfacing Information below. FINISHING A. Maple Flooring Machine sand with coarse, medium, and fine paper to a smooth, even and uniform surface. Remove sanding dust from the entire surface by tack or vacuum. Inspect the entire area of floor to ensure that the surface is acceptable for finishing, clean and completely free from sanding dust. Apply two (2) coats of approved seal and two (2) coats of approved finish per manufacturer's instructions. Buff and clean floor between coats. Games Lines: Apply game lines to match the existing layout, between seal and first coat of finish. Gym: 5,976 square feet Contractor must utilize the Hillyard product line or an equivalent product and associated product lines, adhere to product manufacture specifications, to include grit screens, Basecoats, Gym Finish, and the applicators that are required to apply the gym floor finish. In accordance with the finish manufacturer's direction, the contractor must color match, repaint and repair lines that have been damaged by the screening process. The Contractor must submit Material Safety Data Sheets to the Building and Grounds office prior to procurement of materials. Contractor is responsible to safely store product and materials To ensure the HVAC systems are shut down, the Building and Grounds office must be contacted prior to commencing each assignment. It is the contractor's responsibility to completely seal off the area, including the bleachers; containing the floor dust from entering other parts of the building throughout the gym floor refinishing process. The contractor shall not leave any product and/ or material behind for disposal. The North Kingstown School Department reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to accept any proposal, in whole or in part, which it considers to serve the best interest of the North Kingstown School Department. Any and all proposals shall be rejected if there is a reason to believe that collusion exists among the bidders. Bid quotations submitted shall remain firm for a period of ninety (90) days after the time set for the opening of the bids. Any proposal may be withdrawn, on a written request dispatched by the bidder in time for delivery in the normal course of business, prior to the hour fixed for the opening of proposals. During a period of ninety (90) days following the opening of proposals, no proposal may be withdrawn.
