The scope of the project is to renovate a portion of the Central New York Psychiatric Center complex, specifically within an existing six-story wing totaling approximately 101,500 gross square feet. The project requires enabling work as part of Phase 3A to be completed prior to the main portion of the work in Phase 3. Phase 3A includes enabling electrical work to shift the patient population to another wing, constructing new temporary pantries on floors 3 through 6, which will require hazardous material abatement, new partitions, associated finishes, doors, frames, hardware, food service equipment, and new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. Phase 3 includes hazardous materials abatement, structural and non-structural demolition, new steel, existing window removal and replacement, roof replacement, brick facade repairs, and complete renovation of the wing's interior, including new food service equipment. New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems will be provided. Site work involves secure fencing for a temporary construction hoist, dedicated construction entrance, and a new guard house. The project requires prevailing wage labor and is tax exempt. M/WBE and SDVOB contractors are encouraged to participate, with requirements of 5% MBE, 4% WBE, and 1% SDVOB participation. Contractors should indicate if they are NYS-Certified M/WBE or SDVOB.
