Renovation of a multi-residential development in Farrell, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Mercer County Housing Authority is accepting bids to convert the Chavers Center to a Veterans Shelter. This work will include demoing walls, framing, drywall work, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and creating an accessible shower. There are approved drawings for this work. The bids requested are for three out of the eleven work items in the plans. The job location is 211 Federal St. Farrell, Pa. 16121. All bids are to be marked "Veterans Shelter Conversion II" and mailed in or dropped off in a sealed envelope at 80 Jefferson Ave Sharon, Pa. 16146 before the specified deadline. Any bids submitted after the deadline will not be opened. Lower-Level Accessible Full Bath Work Scope: Create full bath with handicap shower and laundry room at the lower level. (See Sheet AO.3) 2. Demo room 15 and 16 down to the block walls. All built in shelving, sink, and radiator in room 16. The radiator piping will need cut back and capped above ceiling height. 3. All new construction walls will be metal studs, R13 Insulation, 5/8 drywall on both sides (Smooth Finish), primed and painted, and rubber cove base. (See Sheet A1.1 ) 4. Room 15 will be converted to a full bath with an accessible shower. (See Sheet AO.3, A1.3, and M1.0) 5. Room 15 will get a drywall ceiling with a 30”x30” access panel. Verify in the field location for the access panel. 6. Electrical outlets, switches, and lighting 4’x2’ LED panels. (See Sheet AO.5, E1.3) 7. The concrete block wall dividing Room 15 and 16 will get demoed to accommodate the new shower. 8. Install roll-in accessible shower. (See Sheet A1.3) 9. Install exhaust fan in room 15. (See Sheet E1.3, and M1.0) 10. The lower-level bathrooms. Replace the children’s toilets with standard height toilets. (See Sheet A1.1) 11. Room 16 will be converted into a laundry room. (See Sheet AO.3, AO.5 and M1.0) 12. Both rooms 15 and 16 have concrete floors to cut open and expose the existing plumbing to install the new drains in specified locations. Verify in the field locations of the existing drains. 13. Everything will be required to meet minimum state and federal code. 14. The contractor is responsible for keeping a clean work area. Other trades will be working on site at the same time respect each other’s space.
