Mercer County Housing Authority is accepting bids to convert the Chavers Center to a Veterans Shelter. The work includes framing, drywall work, electrical, mechanical, and installing egress windows. There are approved drawings for the work. The bids being requested pertain to three out of eleven work items in the plans. The job location is 211 Federal St. Farrell, Pa. 16121. All bids must be marked "Veterans Shelter Conversion" and mailed or dropped off in a sealed envelope at 80 Jefferson Ave, Sharon, Pa. 16146 before the specified deadline. Any bids submitted after the deadline will not be opened. General Work Scope: This work will be to configure and divide lower level to create (6) private sleeping rooms. Installing (6) egress windows (5) of these windows will need window wells and drainage. Upgrade existing electrical to service newly created sleeping areas. Relocate existing HVAC runs to service (5) of the sleeping areas.
