Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services, incidental and implied, for this job. All items not specifically mentioned in the specifications, but which are obviously required to make the renovations complete, shall be included automatically. All bidders are required to have at least three years of experience and supply three references in this area if asked for them. The Contractor shall be responsible for the construction site during the performance of the work, any and all damages to persons and property, and provide all necessary safety measures while complying with all federal, state, and local laws, building rules, and regulations to prevent accidents or injury. All work shall comply with North Carolina Building Code, Underwriters' Rules and Regulations, and all relevant federal, state, and local codes. The Contractor shall secure all required permits and deliver all certification of inspection issued by the authorities having jurisdiction. Security, safety, and protection of the instructional environment are priorities; the Contractor shall confine activities to the work area, screen all on-site employees, and supply documentation upon request. The Contractor must submit a precise work schedule to coordinate with building occupants and may be requested to alter the schedule. All employees must act professionally, wear shirts, and "sign in" and "sign out" at the main office. One person on each site must speak fluent English. Persons required to register under the Sex Offender and Public Protection Program or convicted of certain offenses are expressly forbidden from being present on school property. Price adjustments during the contract must follow notification procedures and the Consumer Price Index, and bidders are capped at a 3% maximum price increase.
