Renovation of a mixed-use development in Weldon, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services, incidental and implied, for this job. All items not specifically mentioned in the specifications, but which are obviously required to make the renovations complete, shall be included automatically. All bidders are required to have at least three years of experience and supply three references in this area if asked. The contractor is responsible for the construction site during performance of the work, any damages to persons or property, providing necessary safety measures, and complying with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA regulations. Proper barricading of the work area is required. All work must comply with North Carolina Building Code, Underwriters' Rules and Regulations, and all applicable regulations. The contractor must secure all permits required for the job, pay all costs associated with Halifax County building permits, and deliver all inspection certificates before requesting final payment. Security, safety, and protection of the instructional environment are priority concerns. The contractor must confine activities to the work area and not interact with students, teachers, or staff not designated as contact personnel. All employees must "sign in" and "sign out" at the main office, and one person on site must speak fluent English. Employees must act professionally, wear shirts, and comply with G.S. 14-208.18 regarding the presence of certain offenders on school property. The contractor must submit a time schedule for work in specific areas and coordinate with the Maintenance Director as needed. Price changes must be communicated in writing and are capped with a 3% maximum price increase. Invoices must reflect established contract prices, and applicable North Carolina sales tax must be invoiced separately.
