The project consists of the removal and replacement of underground storage tank product piping at the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Helena Headquarters. SPECIFICATIONS FOR WORK: Provide all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to remove and replace all underground product piping (both unleaded gasoline and diesel) from two underground storage tanks (UST) to associated aboveground dispensers. Contract will be responsible for disposal of all material. Work shall include but not limited to the following: • Obtain Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) permits prior to start of work. • Coordinate with facility contacts prior to start of work to arrange schedule. • Disable all fuel dispensing capabilities prior to start of work. • Sawcut and remove concrete as necessary to expose existing piping for removal and for installation of new piping. • Install 1-1/2-inch APT approved flexible or rigid piping from STP to each dispenser for both product types. • Install STP sump sensor in each UST STP sump (2). • Install under dispenser sump sensor beneath each dispenser (4). • Connect all sump sensors back to the ATG. • Install Veeder Root overfill alarm for both USTs. • Program ATG as necessary for all sensors and overfill alarm. • Backfill with appropriate material compatible with installed piping per piping manufacture’s recommendation. • Install concrete as necessary above piping trench to match existing grade. • Submit DEQ installation documentation as required.
