Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Adel, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a 10,182-square-foot fire / police facility.

The project consists of constructing a new 10,182 sf EMS Station facility complete with four apparatus bays and an administrative suite to support full-time County EMS personnel. The bid is divided into packages as follows: 1) Concrete Foundations, Slabs, Paving, & Walks—includes concrete formwork, reinforcement, cast-in-place concrete placement and finishing, anchor rod placement, excavation and backfill for structural foundations, interior and exterior slabs, pavements, and walks; 2) Gypsum Board Assemblies and Acoustical Ceilings—includes light gage metal framing, thermal and foamed-in-place insulation, gypsum board walls, bulkheads, ceilings, and acoustical ceilings; 3) Pre-Engineered Metal Building & Miscellaneous Metals—includes the pre-engineered metal building shell and miscellaneous metals; 4) Plumbing & Mechanical—includes all plumbing and HVAC systems and associated equipment; 5) Electrical, Communications, & Electronic Safety and Security—covers all underground, above ground, and overhead electrical, communications, and safety systems, as well as related infrastructure; 6) Site Demolition, Earthwork, & Site Utilities—includes demolition, clearing, earthwork, trenching, erosion and sediment control, water distribution, sanitary and storm sewer piping, and storm structure assemblies for site development. Instructions to bidders: Statements of Qualification (Preapproval Forms) must be filled out and submitted electronically. Submissions received after the deadline will not be accepted. All questions and requests for clarifications must be submitted electronically. Submissions will be reviewed and scored based on an objective process and statutory criteria. Only submitters meeting or exceeding minimum criteria will be approved as bidders. The Construction Manager/Owner reserves the right to reject submissions that are flawed, incomplete, or insufficient. All required forms and supporting documentation must be submitted in advance of the deadline to be considered responsive. Pre-qualification requirements: Submission of completed Preapproval Forms and supporting documentation is mandatory for consideration. Only those interested in prequalifying to bid on packages anticipated to exceed the competitive bidding threshold are eligible. Submissions will be reviewed per an objective scoring process with statutory criteria and must meet or exceed the minimum required score to be approved as a bidder for the respective bid package. The correct forms and complete documentation must be submitted by the deadline. Only electronic submissions are accepted.
