Site work for a mixed-use development in Oakwood, Georgia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Oakwood, Georgia, is seeking qualifications from consulting engineering firms to assist with planning, application, and administration of various state and federal community, economic development, and transportation projects. Project types include Complete Streets multi-modal and alternative transportation infrastructure (such as sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, streetscapes, signalization, roundabouts), water, sewer, stormwater, downtown, commercial and industrial areas, recreation areas, and common public spaces. Firms must be capable of identifying infrastructure deficiencies, preparing project scopes/concept design reports, cost estimates, timelines, preliminary and final engineering drawings and design reports, and providing permitting, bidding, construction administration, inspection, and reporting for projects with state and federal funding. Responding firms must have an active SAM account, a UEI, and cannot be federally debarred. Immediate plans include: (1) contracting for a preliminary engineering report for an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) application, (2) preparation of a citywide Safety Action Plan upon grant award for the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) program, and (3) application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for sanitary sewer, sidewalks, storm drainage, curb and gutter, and streetscaping in accordance with the city’s adopted plans. Proposals must include information on firm history and mission, community familiarity, personnel qualifications, project approach, state and federal project experience, professional references, current workload and ability to provide proposed services, litigation history, errors and omissions and liability insurance, and a completed, signed, and notarized DCA Section 3 Certification Package. Section 3 and Minority and Women Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply. One digital and one hard copy of the proposal must be submitted by the deadline. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities in the process. Questions must be submitted by email. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
