Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The scope of work is for improvements on Main Street between 19th Street and 21st Street and 19th Street south of Main Street. The improvements include, but are not limited to: demolition of existing crosswalk curbs and paving at select areas on 19th and Main Street; construction of new northbound right turning lane markings on 19th Street; construction of new westbound left turning lane markings on Main Street; installation of new 3-way traffic signal at the intersection of 19th Street and Main Street; installation of new sidewalks, planters and concrete curbs on 19th Street and Main Street; installation of new lighting and required power on Main Street, 19th Street, and the 19th Street. The objective and intent of this work is to improve safety and connectivity to and from the Allegheny Shores development site, the Allegheny Riverfront and the Borough's business district and residential neighborhoods. Instructions to bidders: All bidders are required to obtain the Bid Documents in PDF format for a non-refundable deposit from QuestCDN using the provided project number. Proposals must be submitted upon the forms furnished by the Borough. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Borough of Sharpsburg, to guarantee the bidder’s entrance into the contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes or ordinances. Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates apply. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud via video conference. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the bidding. Procurement is subject to all requirements for contract value exceeding $25,000, including compliance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and The Public Works Employment Verification Act. Requirements for the project are detailed in the Contract Documents and Technical Specifications available to bidders. Bidders will be required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Pre-Bid Conference is not being provided, however prospective bidders are expected to visit the project location before bids are due
