Site work for a water / sewer project in Tucson, Arizona. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City of Tucson, Tucson Water Department, intends to implement further advanced treatment for potable distribution utilizing Class A+ secondary treated effluent from Pima County's existing water reclamation facilities. The new Advanced Water Purification Facility (AWPF) will have a production capacity of 2.5 million gallons per day (MGD). The Project aims to utilize a portion of the City's local water resources to diversify the water resource portfolio, improve water quality and supply reliability, address distribution system capacity issues due to PFAS-related well shutdowns, and provide long-term conservation benefits for both the local community and the Colorado River system. The Operator, under its O&M Agreement with the City, is required to coordinate with and provide input to the City and the Design-Builder during the design and construction of the AWPF, but the Operator's primary responsibility will be operations and maintenance of the AWPF. The Design-Builder will be responsible for the design and construction of the facility.
