Buxton/Avon Beach Nourishment - Beach Grass Planting Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, including without limitation the rights to reject any or all nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional Bids, and to reject the Bid of any Bidder if Owner believes that it would not be in the best interest of Owner to make an award to that Bidder. After determination of the Successful Bidder based on the bid prices and on the responsiveness, responsibility, and other factors, the award may be made to said Successful Bidder on its Bid for which Owner determines funds will be available at the time of award and in the interest of the Owner. Work to be Completed between 1 July 2026 and 31 December 2026 Installation of a maximum of 90,000 plants (24 inches apart) on the newly nourished dune crest and dune face along 6,000 linear feet of Cape Hatteras National Seashore in front of the Village of Avon south of the Avon Pier as identified on the Drawings. Only native, salt-tolerant plant species (for example, American Beachgrass, Sea Oats, and/or Bitter Panic Grass) shall be installed. Installation of a maximum of 67,500 plants (24 inches apart) on the newly nourished dune crest and dune face along 4,500 linear feet of Cape Hatteras National Seashore in front of the Village of Buxtonas identified on the Drawings. Only native, salt-tolerant plant species (for example, American Beachgrass, Sea Oats, and/or Bitter Panic Grass) shall be installed. Bidder accepts the provisions of the Agreement as to liquidated damages of $500 per day in the event of failure to complete the Work within the times specified above, which shall be stated in the Agreement.
