Kalamazoo Public Schools is soliciting bids for the removal of asbestos-containing materials. A mandatory walk-through survey of the removal area is scheduled for May 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Contractors will receive specifications at that time. Sealed bids must be clearly marked as "ASBESTOS ABATEMENT PROPOSAL - DO NOT OPEN" and shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship (or lack thereof) with any member of the Board of Education or Superintendent. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid is required. Successful bidders must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract amount if the contract exceeds $50,000. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in bidding. All bids may be held for up to 120 days before awarding contracts.
