Mason County PUD No. 1 seeks sealed proposals for the Vegetation Management Project, which includes approximately 21.8 miles of live line vegetation clearing around high voltage 3-Phase distribution mainlines on U.S. Highway 101 and State Route 106. The project also involves the removal of hazard trees at 50 separate locations. Work must begin no earlier than October 1, 2026, and be completed by March 31, 2027. Bidders are instructed to file sealed bid documents marked as Bid Documents- Vegetation Management Project with the District's office by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Work must be performed by qualified journeyman-level Power Line Clearance Tree Trimmers as specified in the RFP instructions. All contractors and subcontractors must pay prevailing wages in compliance with Washington State laws. Small, minority, and women owned firms are encouraged to apply. Pre-qualification requirements: Only contractors prequalified by Mason PUD 1 to perform work on its electrical system are eligible to receive bid documents and submit quotations. Bidders must employ qualified journeyman-level Power Line Clearance Tree Trimmers who have completed a Washington State (WSACT) or IBEW sponsored apprenticeship program and are certified in Washington State for high line clearing around energized power lines, with at least three years of similar project experience. Bidders lacking certified personnel or required experience will be considered unresponsive.
