The Town seeks a contractor to remove a large sugar maple on the Town Common that has been determined by the Town Tree Warden to be dead, dying, or hazardous, as well as prune trees in the vicinity of the Old Town Hall to protect municipal infrastructure, public safety, and tree health. All trees to be removed or pruned have been inspected and approved by the Tree Warden, are located on the Town Common, and are identified in Attachment A – Scope of Work. No additional trees may be removed without written authorization from the Tree Warden. The contractor must be experienced in municipal tree work, employ trained and competent personnel, follow ANSI Z133 safety standards, and provide proof of qualifications upon request. Bids can be submitted by mail, in person, or electronically as specified. Bidders must state a not-to-exceed price and may propose additional or alternative services to efficiently meet the Town’s goals. Proposals submitted become the property of the Town. All work must be satisfactorily completed and signed off by the Town before final payment. Qualified disadvantaged and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. Bidders must submit to the provided address or email, and clearly mark all submissions as indicated. Any bid may be withdrawn in writing prior to the scheduled time for opening of bids and must adhere to the project specifications unless noted exceptions are provided.
