The extent of the work consists of the reconstruction of the traveled way with asphalt and concrete, curb and gutter replacement, storm and sanitary sewer structure adjustments, installation of subdrain and geogrid along S. Lincoln Street in Garnavillo, Iowa. The contractor shall fully complete the work in 40 working days, with alternate construction start dates available: Alternate A Late Summer/Fall 2026 Construction with a late start date of August 10, 2026, or Alternate B Spring/Summer 2027 Construction with a late start date of April 5, 2027. Liquidated damages of $1,000 per working day will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract term. Bids will be received and accepted via the online electronic bid service through QuestCDN.com. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, in the form of a cashier’s or certified check or a bid bond as specified. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price, for faithful performance of the contract, prompt payment of all material and labor, and maintenance warranty. Complete bid documents must be downloaded from QuestCDN, which also registers the company as a plan holder and allows access to online bidding. Hard copies of bid documents are available for a refundable deposit if returned in good condition within 14 days after award. Preferences will be given to Iowa products and labor as required by law, and statutory resident bidder preferences apply. All contractors and approved subcontractors will be provided a Sales Tax Exemption Certification to purchase materials furnished under this contract.
